back then, it was the opposite.
Yeah. They really used to encourage you to build the model, then take it apart and build something new, back in the old days. A quote I saw on the LEGO site once... "Some people might be content to just build the model on the box. But not you. You're a designer."
Part of it is, they now think that play value is more important than building. And it might be for the younger area. So, they make their building sets huge and expensive. Leaving teenagers with kinda a gap.
Part of the reason I haven't bought a LEGO set for the past couple of years, is because none of them look like an interesting build, or they're really expensive.
Though, I intend to buy a bunch of Lord of the Rings LEGOs this year.
Agreed, LEGO used to do so much more, they even put re-build idea on the back of the box. Play value can be fun at times, but I haven't played with my Death Star in almost a year and it is looking pretty nice in my room right now.

I know mods can merge topics on some forum programs, it normally comes under their jurisdiction to merge topics that are of relative interest (along with delete spam, check for flame and generally help out ).
I can't really tell without seeing the group permissions though

@cBm: Yeah. that was caused by the way I merged the topics. It was something I had not thought of.
@Star: Beneath the quick reply, are a couple of drop down boxes that should show for Mods and Admins. One of them is marked 'Quick Mod Tools' click on that, and that'll allow you to use your POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. I have a machine gun piece, which I'm rather fond of. And I have found a use for the set in my LEGO Sci-fi army. But I still prefer LEGO overall.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
The Halo sets are probably my favourite MEGABloks sets, I haven't bought one though. (I wouldn't buy it for the franchise, but the sets themselves, and in that respect they can't surpass LEGO Star Wars)

Speaking of unique pieces, um... I don't know. I guess I got those cool looking motorcycles and such.
Oh, and Keen... I actually can't find that drop box.
EDIT: If anyone reads this, never mind, I have found them.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
MEGABloks makes much more detailed pieces, albeit cheaply made.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
Oh really? REALLY? That's the point. Lego lets you make pieces with pieces. No, they're not detailed. But you can make them. There is not a AK47 piece, but i could build a mini AK47 with other bricks.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
You are completely missing my point, people buy MEGABloks for detailed pieces, LEGO lacks any such pieces. If you were to make a AK-47 out of LEGO Bricks it would either be too large or too bland, which is why people turn to Clone Bricks.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
As I watch this debate grow, I feel inclined to share this link
http://brickarms.com/
If you want a mini-fig scale AK then you can have it
Also better quaility than megabloks, I know because I have one.
If you want halo minifigs you can go here

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
I've known about Brickarms for ages, I've never bought one because I've never felt the need (I guess I've never felt the need for MEGABloks either, but I buy them on occasion because, believe it or not, I actually find sometimes there are pretty nice sets)
