Should this not be in the LEGO forum?
Anyway, megabloks (not capitalizing on purpose) are horrible.

I'm pretty sure I'm talking about MEGABloks, not LEGO.
They are awesome! So many unique pieces ^_^

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
So? They are making fakes. Making LEGO lose money. Stealing peoples ideas. LEGO invented it. Unique pieces? I bet they are actually copied off rare LEGO bricks. PURE COPYCATS.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
LEGO hasn't made any rare pieces since the '90s, most as used from other sets (which I'll give them does show a little more creativity).
But MEGABloks can be turned into so many other things! Halo today, Stealth Bomber tomorrow!

Same. With right bricks all can be done. Not like LEGO cannot do Waffle.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
Thing is about LEGO, I don't want to take my sets apart, with MEGABlok... I don't know, there is something Waffle makes me want to rip apart their sets and build it into something much better with as little effort as possible.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
Why do you want to take it apart with megobloks, even when they are about the same (except quality) (or maybe thats why)

Lolololol!
I got some Megablok sets, (no idea why and how) and I think they would be great if melted down into custom heavy weapon boolits.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
Megabloks does have a few good bricks. I am rather fond of a machine gun brick that came with the one Megablok set I own.
Other than that, they are absolute garbage. They don't stick together as well, and just by TOUCHING them, I can feel their inferiority.
Give me good old LEGO bricks any day of the week.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
I can't say anything set-wise, having never touched many Megablok sets... But QUALITY wise... LEGO slaughters Megabloks. (Which is why I don't even look at Megablok sets) Its not even a fair fight. I can touch Megabloks, and they just feel cheap. LEGO bricks don't feel cheap in the slightest. LEGOs are tougher, and they last longer.

...Agreed
IMO MEGABloks are only good for sets LEGO would never make

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
So, they have one use.
Other than being melted down that is.
What LEGO needs to do, is to start cranking out sets that are great for building again... *Sighs*

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
Well, IMO LEGO is telling us now: here are instructions. don't try to build something else, it will fail.
back then, it was the opposite.

LEGO. but we have the same going on in the random forum.
WHY? LEGO was the creator. megabloks just copied LEGO.

Yeah. They really used to encourage you to build the model, then take it apart and build something new, back in the old days. A quote I saw on the LEGO site once... "Some people might be content to just build the model on the box. But not you. You're a designer."
Part of it is, they now think that play value is more important than building. And it might be for the younger area. So, they make their building sets huge and expensive. Leaving teenagers with kinda a gap.
Part of the reason I haven't bought a LEGO set for the past couple of years, is because none of them look like an interesting build, or they're really expensive.
Though, I intend to buy a bunch of Lord of the Rings LEGOs this year.

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
Another reason... Just look at the quality of the bricks. Compare how they feel. LEGO feels high quality. Megabloks feels like cheap plastic. Which it is.
And thanks for pointing that out Donald. I'm merging the topics now. And actually, I'm going to put it all in the debate forum, because that's what this'll all turn into. Even the topic in the Random Stuff forum.
So, sorry about any messiness that comes out of this merging.
