A change of place.

I've been giving it a lot of thought lately, and I've come to a conclusion: The forum is pretty much dead. :/ We're not getting any new members, and our current users are semi-active at best. The biggest problem in my opinion is, we're TOO random. We don't have a dedicated purpose, and that leads visitors to not be inclined to stick around. Additionally, the forum itself is hardly used, and people just use the chat, which has also led to a decline.

I feel like we should consider moving, making a new, more specialized location. It'd be the exact same as before, except with a different name and a different focus.  I'm personally leaning towards either a video game or movie forum, but if there's any other suggestions, feel free to speak up.

As much as I love RAW, it's been in decline for a while, and I feel we need something fresh if our community is going to grow and thrive.

Sadly, I think your right.

With people so semi active now, you'd have to send out probably a forum wide email or PM to let everyone know RAW is moving.

How long do you think it'd take to get the new forum up and running?

Well, I'd like to talk with you guys, and JJ and Joe especially about it a bit more, and we'll start planning the direction we want the community/potential new forum to take.

Incidentally enough, the 3 year anniversary of RAW is coming up on January 11th. I think it'd be nice if we aimed for that day to launch the new forum.

I can't disagree with a single thing that has been said here. I'm not sure how much moving to a new place would make a difference, but it's definitely worth trying.

A forum dedicated to movies or games should do the trick, maybe even make the forum about both.

But promise me one thing... please don't shut down RAW entirely. It became a second home to me.

I'd be okay with this. I'd visit more, but I've been busy and whenever I check, everyone I normally talk to is offline. I miss ya'll. :/

Should there be a set date so that when folks can get on and it can be all discussed and stuff?

What do you guys think of the name "Mediocre Media" for the new forum?

Hmm. Not bad. Interesting. But, would it give off the wrong impression in anyway?
