Ok, well as the name says, we got this topic for any sorta movie news.

I'm not sure what to think.

I really don't see why it needs 3 movies though when the second was full of pointless cgi and real actor mixing being showed off to wow the audience, I feel both movies so far lacked any real content and no I have not read the books but I would imagine them to have a more in depth plot than the movies have let on.

Roddy has said it all. If the second movie actually followed the plot, Smaug would be dead by now and the Battle would most likely be over.

Meanwhile, most of the Tolkien fandom is out for Peter Jackson's blood. This doesn't bode well with me at all.

Ya gotta point Roddy. If they cut all the stuff out with Legolas and whatnot it coulda been done.

MD: Aye, PJ actually doesn't have the rights to the Hobbit or LotR, Christopher Tolkien does. I believe Christopher is the one with the final say in it all but so many Fans don't seem to know that.

PJ has, I believe, the rights to make the movies, including to write the scripts. And, well, given what Christopher Tolkien has said in regards to some of the movies, I'm quite sure that he hasn't had a say in the script.

That's news to me O_O . From my understanding it was Christopher Tolkien had all the rights and say so. Hm.... Maybe it changed?

I know and I have some friends in school who are Hobbit fanboys and they are trying to justify a trilogy of movies when the second one contained more CGI orcs than anything else really.

@Arwin: It's basically always the case that the person who sold the movie rights isn't the person to write the script. The times when that's the case are exceedingly rare. General rule of thumb.

@Roddy: Good grief. After PJ's mockery of the story they're still going crazy about it? Methinks my level of fanhood blows theirs away. Certainly my level of purism. XD

My problem with Narnia movies is the fact that one: When they were written, they were not intended for movie making. Two, all three of the resent ones have been SO HORRIBLY OFF the books. Put that aside though and their pretty good. Its just that its so inconsistent imo. Though in the Silver Chair I look forward to seeing Puddlegum!!! PUDDLEGUM!!!  Tehe

Erm, all three? The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe was pretty accurate I thought.

Good point. Its been awhile sense I've seen the whole Lion, the witch and the wardrobe

Wyatt: Yeah I hope the same. Though The Voyage Of The Dawn Tredder was my fav and they messed up the plot big time on that :/ . But I do hope the Silver Chair is as close to the book as can be.
