FOUR HABITABLE PLANETS

^Read for yourself. While the main news is that 715 new planets were discovered, its waaayy more crazy that four of them are actually possible for life to inhabit.

I don't know about you guys, but that's pretty huge to me.

That's actually pretty awesome. It would be fantastic if there turned out to be some form of life on one of those planets.

No kidding. Maybe someday when NASA gets a little more money and time, we can send over something to go check those planets out.

Gosh it'd be amazing.   The very idea of other living beings out there is so exhilarating and heartwarming at the same time...

I can see it now on the headlines "Bugs discovered on habital planet, Astronauts dead, Bugs anhilliated. Real life Ender's Game?"

Wow, that would be cool for life to be discovered.

It's almost a little scary to think about how there may be an "Earth 2.0."

Well, keep in mind, that the planets are twice the size of Earth. At least. Which means the gravity will likely be at least twice as great as the gravity on Earth. Which means that living there could be rather uncomfortable.

Or it could be rather awesome.

Well, JJ, that's assuming that any potential life there is similar to us. Life can take many different forms, and if there is any native life on that planet, it will likely have adapted to handle the significant difference in gravity. Also, do keep in mind, something as simple as microorganisms is technically considered life. Perhaps not sentient life, but life nonetheless.

Right. Should there be any life there, it will be perfectly suited for them. That I have no doubt of. When I was talking about the heavy gravity, I was thinking about for humans who get there. (What with the Earth 2.0 comment.)

Oh, one slight comment... Despite my killjoy comments here, I do think finding planets in the habitable zone is awesome.

Well, due to the difficulties of interstellar travel, I'd be astounded if much is going on. I mean, studying the planets further, such as we can, absolutely. But beyond that, I don't think there's anything we can really do for quite some time.
