Re: Legos or Megabloks?
i've been playing with lego's/nockoff name brand building blocks for a long time....and i decided early on that legos was the only way to go...the other name brands blocks didn't hold together as well and the were flimsy compared to legos so they broke easier...

Lego all the way. It encourages creative usage of pieces. Mega-Bloks... not so much. That said, I don't despise Mega-Bloks, I just don't enjoy them as much. They seem much cheaper.

No, they're not.
If you build the latest Halo set, turn it upside down...

It costs 400,000 tubes of glue to keep a Megabloks set together... for 12 seconds.
Re: Legos or Megabloks?
Speaking of Halo MEGAbloks, does anyone want a Halo Fest limited edition one of only 5000 Warthog? Regularly, they go for $200! But today my friends is your lucky day! I will give you a $10 discount!

Re: Legos or Megabloks?
Despite this debate being abandoned for nearly a year, I propose that we settle this once and for all in true debate fashion. The first point I would like to bring up is compatability: if you take one of the very first LEGO bricks ever created, you could connect it to the most advanced LEGO brick in existence: the NXT "brain" brick. On the other hand, (I know this from personal experience) MEGABlok has release sets within the Same Year that were incompatable: the pieces could not effectively connect between the various themes sets. The next point I would like to bring up is design: there are very few LEGO sets that might be considered "flimsy", that is: the pieces that are supposed to stay together usually do. Now let's take a look at MEGABlok, or more specifically, the Dragon theme sets: they fall apart! Practically at the drop of a hat! To begin with, the "rock" baseplates included in many of the sets in said theme are practically impossible to connect together in the first place. If you can manage it, you better not attach another piece because it will all fall apart! Admittedly, the MEGABlok Dragons are far more detailed than say, the LEGO Dinos. But: the LEGO Dinos have infinitely more customizability than the Dragons. Now, I request a recess from the judges while I collect my thoughts on the rest of my case, and I will allow the prosecution to present their case.
