Come hither, come all - and thus Iluvatar saw it was good, and made the Tolkien Hangout.

Well, with that out of the way - Razz

Welcome! This is the Tolkien Hangout, whether it be with the casual movie watchers, the book-readers, the lore-keepers - come in, come in! If you like anything about the Lord of the Rings, or Middle-Earth, well, grab a pint of ale, grab a chair - and talk with others about the phenomenon of which is Tolkien's story.

To start it off...who is excited about the next movie in the The Hobbit: Smaug's Desolation?! Who's going to see it? Any likes or dislikes on the series so far? I personally thought they could have cut down on Gandalf's usage of magic a little, but nonetheless, it was a great movie. Awkward Smile

I used to know like everything about Tolkien's Middle-earth related stuff, but it's been a while since I read the books, so I can't remember a lotta things. Razz

Heh. I've actually began reading the Histories of Middle-Earth, so I'm about to know a lotta stuff on Middle Earth. Razz

Although, I'm finding that history on the Dwarves is rather...lacking.

Lore-keepers? Like the Lore-master class in LOTRO? Razz I prefer the Rune-keeper, myself. You don't know what your missing out on, JJ. Razz

@Minifig: Keep in mind, we have no clue as to how canon much of the stuff in the Histories of Middle Earth is.
However, as for the lack of history on Dwarves in them, well, there's likely a reason for that. Originally Dwarves were evil.

@Flushy: No, I mean like historians. XP

@JJ: True, but it's fun all the same to read. As for the Dwarves...well, I wouldn't doubt it. But, still, that SHOULDN'T have stopped Tolkien from going a little more in-depth...
