Lord of the Rings Discussion Empty Lord of the Rings Discussion

So, it's been pointed out that Arwin, Minifig, talk/rant about Lord of the Rings about half of the time that we're on chat together. So, it's been suggested that we make this topic. So... I made this topic.

So, I just thought about something... It's really crazy how so many things make elves look really girly, with absurdly long hair. And I do think it's stupidly long, and that people need to learn how to draw masculine elves... But I just realized one thing. There's a little bit of practicality behind having long hair, if you're using a helmet. Medieval knights had their hair on the longer side. They'd bundle it up, and put it under a leather cap, which would supply some extra padding. Now, I'm pretty sure that's not the intention behind any of the artists, but at least it adds a tiny bit of logic.

We rant half the time? Sorry Embarassed

Aye, in the Hobbit, Thrandy is WAY to feminine, as an artist myself, I'm trying to get better at drawing elves, and I must say, its hard to keep elven men looking fair yet masculine, any ideas and thoughts are more then welcome!
