RAW's D&D roleplay campaign

After discussing it in the chat, it looks like we may have enough people for a D&D campaign.

I will be the DM for this campaign, unless someone with more experience is interested.

Now, to make this run as smoothly as possible, there are a few links you will need.

Firstly, the D&D 3.5 Edition Players Handbook:

You will have to make an account there, though don't worry, you don't have to use your real name, although it may require your email. That link will allow you to make a character sheet for the campaign. After you make an account, on the top navigation bar, click on "Sheets". You can then select to create a new sheet. From there, name the sheet what your character name will be, and make sure the box is set to PUBLIC, I have to be able to see your character sheet. Then, in the bar that says "Type", find and click "D&D 3.5e". After that, you can either create your character immediately if you are experienced,  or click SAVE at the bottom of the page, and wait till myself or someone else can help you with your character.

You will also need an account here, this is where we will be actually playing the campaign. It will ask for your name, but you can just use your username, put your username as your first name, and a random initial as your last name, and it will work fine.

I would recommend bookmarking the 3 links I posted for easy reference if you plan on playing.

If you have any other questions or suggestions, let me know. If you need help making a character, let me know, we can probably use our first session to just sit down and make characters if we need to.

Here are the rules for rolling your attributes (STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, and CHA)

Roll 4 1d6 dice. The lowest of those 4, kick out, only use the top 3. Do that 7 times. The lowest total score you get, throw out, then assign the other 6 scores to your attributes as you want, depending on what class you are going for.

If your highest score is not at least an 18, boost it up to an 18.

If you get REALLY horrible rolls, let me know, and I MIGHT let you reroll, but ask me first. It's normal to have at least one or 2 attributes at an 8 or 9.

Also, here is an example of a filled out character sheet. You will have different stats and character names and all that, but this will give you a basic idea of what it will look like:

Alright, here are the times and days for the Character Creation session.

1 PM Central time on Tuesday, and 8 PM Central time on Wednesday.

Please let me know before hand which session you think you can attend, if you can make it to both that would be great, but if you cant make it to either one, then I need to know immediately so we can work something out.

Don't think I can make it Tuesday but we'll see. Most likely it'll be Wednesday for me though. How're we going to be doing these sessions? Just over the chatbox?

I can do the one on Tuesday for a fact, and use the one on Wednesday to finish up.

I'm kinda lazy with making a character now. Will it be okay if I join up on a later date?

New plans have come up, the Tuesday session may not be possible for me to be there on time, and I can only be at the Wednesday one for a couple hours.

I can make the Wednesday one though I may be late. I also don't know how much I'll play because I'm short on time what with three jobs and all

Okay, so, JKM: What do I do?

Eh, I had work the last two days, and tomorrow (Thursday), so I missed it... Did you guys make characters? I can make one on my own on Friday morning and submit it to you cB.

Ya, we are mostly done with characters, but ya, you can still send me your character sheet, and if you need any help just let me know.

Also, in case I haven't told everyone, if you write a good, solid backstory for your character, I might give you an extra feat. It doesn't have to be a novel, just something to show me that you put some thought into your character.

You can just PM it to me here when you are done with it.

@The Man: Not sure if this is what cBm wants or not, but the rest of us had exactly 107 gp to spend on items, so my assumption is that you can do so as well.

cB, I added my character background to my character sheet an updated my skills, as well as some possessions. Any suggestions for items? I have no idea what I really need and don't need.

Well, make sure you have a weapon, probably a melee and a ranged, some sort of armor, and then just get basic stuff you'll need, like rations, a bed roll, and anything you need to help you do your duties as your class.
